Lago san Pablo and trek to the waterfall

Hola desde Ecuador!

On Sunday, we decided to explore Lago San Pablo, a big lake that is 30 minutes away from the village. We had help from Ivan, one of the locals, getting to the lake. We took public transportation to get there; it was a lot of fun and we got a great sense of the way the locals get around. We got the lake and the group got into two boats. Some of us decided to swim and some took in the great views of the volcano Imbabura. After that, we decided to trek to a waterfall called Cusin. The view of the mountains was amazing and well worth the muddy trek (we got a ton of laughs out of it). We were all happy to go back home to the village for a siesta, warm soup for lunch and our daily bonfire. As a team, we decided the day’s experience was, “Type 2” fun which means in the moment it is challenging but, when you look back on it, it is worth it, creates great memories and makes us stronger as a team!

Big hugs from Ecuador !

We went to explore Lago San Pablo and some students jumped in the water. It was a very nice break. You can see in the back the volcano Imbabura!

Some of us opted to stay out of the water so, we enjoyed the view of the volcano!
