Hola! It’s Nicole and Brook Lyn here. Today was our second day in Quito. The weather was pretty nice and sunny. We rode the teleférico (cable car) up to the top of a large mountain, and then we decided “oh yeah, let’s hike some more.” It was a little challenging but we ended up having a lot of fun. There were swings, llamas, and stunning views of the city. From there, we went to a park. It was enormous: it had an outside gym, a track, soccer fields, and volleyball and basketball courts. Then we went paddle boating and had a great bonding moment between us students. After that, we went to an awesome lunch spot, De la Llama, and ate really good authentic food. Then, we said goodbye to our hostel host and headed toward our host village. We had a very long meeting with community members and ate dinner with them. For dinner we had soup and popcorn for appetizers and then for the entree we had chicken, rice, salad, and avocado. It was absolutely delicious. We left and got settled into our gorgeous accommodations and we are totally looking forward to tomorrow. Peace and love!
