Adventures in Intag

This post features student writing.

Hola! It’s Lucy and Kylie coming at you with another blog. In our adventures today we climbed the peaks of Ecuador, a.k.a. Cuicocha (see pictures below). Some of us even made it to the top, although the view was spectacular everywhere. Then we ate a much awaited lunch at the lake followed by a long drive through curvy and cloud-filled roads to our newest destination, Valle de Intag. This location is on a beautiful river at the bottom of a canyon surrounded by lush greenery and adorable puppies everywhere. Our hosts in this beautiful forest are from Argentina as well as the cooks, all of whom speak very eloquent English and are extremely welcoming and helpful. The moment we arrived here we began exploring our temporary home. The sleeping arrangements are beyond what we were hoping for. Continuing our adventures, Chris took some of us on an unexpectedly riveting journey along the outer edge of the whitewater river in order to avoid a bridge. This impromptu bushwhack was made worth it by the hot showers and delicious hamburgers, veggie burgers for some, and scrumptious crepes awaiting us back at home. We thoroughly enjoyed the breathtaking views of today and are super excited for a good night’s sleep and another fantastic day tomorrow! 🙂
