Our program has come to an end. We had an incredible last few days in the Galápagos and got to swim with sea lions, eagle rays, sharks (harmless ones), turtles, large schools of fish, and more. The land tortoises we saw were humongous! So were the iguanas. We adventured around the islands of Santa Cruz and San Cristóbal by foot, bicycle, boat, surf board, and snorkel fins. We visited reserves, caves, white sand beaches, and deep sea oceans. One of our favorite stops was the Charles Darwin Research Station, where we saw baby turtles and learned about the turtle conservation projects on the island. We also spent some relaxation time on the gorgeous beaches of Tortuga Bay and a secluded beach near Kicker Rock. We had our final dinner to reflect on community service projects and celebrate Brooke’s quinciñera (15th birthday!) at a beautiful restaurant overlooking sea lions and the ocean. The last days were bittersweet as we had to say goodbye to one of the most extraordinary groups of students. Our memories will be cherished forever.
